CDW.com, in their infinite wisdom, organises their notebook computers for sale by neither brand nor price, but by... hold tight... PROCESSOR SPEED. They have about twenty different categories for each speed of processor they sell.
Now, do I really care if a computer is 2.8 or 3.0Ghz? And due to the differences in processor TYPES (Pentium 4, Pentium M, Centrino, Celeron, Athlon, Athlon 64, etc.) the chip speed isn't really as easy a determining factor when judging observable speed anyway. A 1.8Ghz Centrino chip will be faster than a 2.2Ghz P4. So where does the madness end?
Idiocy.
