For the past four months I’ve been on the path to getting healthier, losing weight, and exercising regularly.

To help me stay focused, and to document the process, I’ve started a separate blog dedicated to my heath and fitness routines, workouts, nutritional knowledge, and thoughts and goals on my way to getting into better shape.

I titled it Clean Livin’: How I Got Healthy, One Day At A Time. Give it a read and let me know what you think.  So far I’ve lost over 60 pounds and already feel a huge improvement (even if my weight loss isn’t as readily noticeable as you’d think after having lost 60 pounds).  I still have a long way to go, but I’m confident that I can do this.

In any case, “we” are readying about a half a dozen products and/or services for launch by the end of the year.

I’m using the default theme (stylesheet) right now but will of course have to style the site myself once I get things set up, figure out what I need/want to change, and adjust to the new software.

I like it so far, though. Hopefully I’ll be able to write a plugin (a major advantage of WP over MT is that the former is written in PHP) to stop comment and trackback spam.

We’ll see.

You see, Jeffrey, it’s not that we have to abandon traditional parent > child relationships in our navigation design – it’s just that we can supplement our structure with something more flexible and democratic.

I’m not about to abandon editorial classification, I’d just like to give users the option of deciding within the community what is and isn’t relevant.

Also, as far as tag “clouds” go I don’t know how useful they are, as the positive feedback loop aspect (things rated highly because of clicks tend to continue to remain at the top of the list due to people clicking them on the list – like our Top 50 Most-Read Poems feature at PX) but I see user added tags as a great way to search for things, and for content sites to post the most relevant tags for each item/monad it exciting. People looking for “love poem” can click on it and see other things that other people classified as “love poem.”

Maybe JZ and I are talking about two different uses for the same thing, but I think he’s just giving in to the “not invented here” acrimony.

Go check out the redesign of Poetry X v3.0, code-named “Nonetheless” since all web projects need code names for new versions.

Included in the new redesign (besides completely re-writing the template engine and backend scripts from scatch to make everything faster and tighter) is a user login system where people can save lists of their favourite poems, post comments, and MORE coming soon.

I rushed out the design before all of the features were ready to meet the CSS Reboot deadline, but overall I’m happy with how it turned out, and am not re-writing a lot of things based on some excellent user feedback (keep it coming, people).

I’ll be updating things soon, and will add NEW CONTENT to Jough.com here.
