Jough.com is XML

In a bold move towards overkill, Jough.com is now completely constructed
in XML
and transformed by XSLT and
CSS. What does this mean to you? Probably not a damned thing. But for
me it’s a way to hone my mad skillz as a web guru by needlessly utilizing
a cutting-edge technology.

Could this page have been created using plain ol’ HTML? Absolutely. But
what fun would that be? I was reading a tutorial on XML and the writer said that
because of the complications with using XML (eXtensible Markup Language)
and XSLT (eXtensible Stylesheet Language Transformation) you probably
wouldn’t see too many homepages being written in XML. I heard the call.
I busted it up.

So while I lay the smack-down on XML, I’ll be converting all of the old
Jough.com material into XML files, able to be imported and exported into
all sorts of different media and devices. Jough.com just got a lot more
portable.
